About Me

Kia ora, I’m Rosie. I live in the lovely Hororata with my partner Andy and our little boy Miles on a large lifestyle block with a variety of animals including chickens, pet sheep, horses, calves and dogs.

I began my journey into Homebased Education (with Stems FROM HOME) after having my own little boy and being unsure of what direction I could head in that allowed me to stay connected to my family, be the nurturing parent, but also provide me with an avenue that I could pursue to enter back into the workforce and offer the opportunity to seek a new area of professional development.

I have just completed my Level 4 certificate in Early Childhood Education and have found a new passion in studying E.C.E.  I look forward to furthering my training in this area in the future.

I am passionate about creating a setting and environment where children and their families feel a strong sense of identity and belonging. I believe as Homebased Educators we have a unique opportunity to really contribute to an individual child’s development.  To positively influence their future, offering them secure, meaningful relationships, and opportunities to discover new challenges all within a safe and supportive environment.

Our Time Together

I particularly enjoy being able to offer a rural setting for my tamariki and all of the opportunities this provides for learning. Space to run, explore, and experience activities in a natural and holistic environment that is so beneficial to learning.

We love spending time outside in the garden; building, playing in the sandpit, riding bikes, feeding the animals, going on picnics and expeditions, all within our own backyard!

I am an active member of many local parenting groups, which allows me to stay connected to my community and attend many of the activities at our local library, music group, bike tracks, playgrounds, and toy library, and we also enjoy regular play dates with other tamariki in our area.

We enjoy being part of our wider Stems FROM HOME community and the support and encouragement this provides. We attend many of the group activities and have wonderful relationships with our fellow Educators and their tamariki.

Stems FROM HOME Programme

Stems FROM HOME run a varied weekly programme that all of our Educators, tamariki and whānau are welcome to attend. This includes;

Playgroup in Izone at our Stems base, Little Explorers (outdoor experiences and outings) and Music and Movement group in winter terms. Our Playgroup sessions include regular arts and crafts, imaginary play, chances to explore individual interests, as well as other fun visitors depending on current interests. All information is shared in our term flyers and planned from the children’s burgeoning interests.
