About Me
Kia Ora! My name is Ashley and I live in Rolleston with my husband and our 3 young sons. We moved here 2 years ago and have loved watching the town grow into a fantastic family orientated community, and we couldn’t be happier to be raising our boys in such a great place.
As a family we enjoy spending time outside, visiting local parks, riding bikes, building forts, and going on trips to the local wildlife reserve Willowbank.
I have decided to begin the journey as a Stems FROM HOME Educator as I grew up with 4 younger siblings, so have always loved fun that comes with being around young ones. After starting my own family, I was unsure what direction to head into next that gave me the opportunity to contribute to the household, allow personal growth, and to be the parent I want to be. As long as I can remember, I have had a passion for caring for tamariki, wanting to help them grow, watch them come into their own personality types, and guide their personal development. I offer a safe supportive environment for them to grow and discover their individuality. I want to provide a space where children and their whānau can feel a sense of belonging and be given an opportunity to have care provided by someone they can trust.
Our Time Together
In my care tamariki will experience the familiar home setting with engaging and fun resources that can be regularly rotated to meet the needs of each individual child and also allow them to discover many different areas of play. This will be balanced out with outings to some of the beautiful playgrounds and parks Rolleston has to offer, and trips to the library and music groups. We will also attend the many activities Stems FROM HOME has to offer and this will allow them to discover friendships over a larger group of children and thrive in different environments.
Stems FROM HOME Programme
Stems FROM HOME run a varied weekly programme that all of our Educators, tamariki and whānau are welcome to attend. This includes;
Playgroup in Izone at our Stems base, Little Explorers (outdoor experiences and outings) and Music and Movement group in winter terms. Our Playgroup sessions include regular arts and crafts, imaginary play, chances to explore individual interests, as well as other fun visitors depending on current interests. All information is shared in our term flyers and planned from the children’s burgeoning interests.
