About Me

Hello, I am a mum of two children and live in Pōkeno  with my husband and family.  Being a parent, along with my experience in early childhood education, has given me a strong understanding of how to support young children in their early years.

I have experience working in an ECE daycare centre. I am confident in caring for children of different ages and supporting thir learning and development in a safe and nurturing way.

I speak English and Tamil, and I enjoy sharing simple cultural values such as respect, kindness, and togetherness.  I believe every child is unique and should feel valued, supported, and included.

I provide a calm and loving “home away from home” environment where children feel safe, build strong relationships, and learn through play and everyday experiences.

Our Time Together

In my home-based setting, I believe in providing a warm, safe, and engaging environment where children can learn through play and hands-on experiences.  I follow a child-led approach, allowing children to explore their interests, build confidence, and develop independence.

I offer a range of activities including art and craft, messy play, sensory play, puzzles, music and storytelling.  Children have access to a variety of toys and learning resources that support their development.

We will enjoy meaningful activities such as planting trees and gardening, helping children learn about nature and caring for the environment.  Hands-on games and creative play support their thinking, problem-solving, and motor skills.

Outdoor play and community experiences will be an important part of our routine.  Going on regular outings to local parks and playgroups, helping children to build social skills and confidence.  I will also be involved in the Stems FROM HOME programme which provides additional opportunities for group learning and connection.

I value including simple cultural experiences such as language, songs, and celebrations, helping children develop an understanding of diversity in a natural and respectful way.  My goal is to create a nurturing, inclusive and home-like environment where children feel happy, safe, and supported to learn and grow at their own pace.

Stems FROM HOME Programme

Stems FROM HOME offers a varied and engaging weekly programme for all of our Educators and tamariki to enjoy together, and whānau/families are always welcome to join in as well.  Our activities include Stems Music sessions in Howick and Pōkeno, Rest Home visits in Pakuranga and Pukekohe, Playgym experiences during the winter terms in Pukekohe and Howick, as well as larger group experiences, celebrations, and special planned events. These opportunities help strengthen our community connections, support children’s learning through shared experiences, and nurture a sense of belonging across our Stems whānau.

All upcoming events and details are shared in our term flyer.
