About Me

Kia ora I’m Nicole! My husband Joe and I, along with our three school aged children—Alexia, Dillon, and Harlow, recently made the move to Rolleston from Hawkes Bay. We’re absolutely loving the warm, family-friendly vibe here and all of the amazing places Canterbury has to offer!
I became a homebased Educator when Dillon was just about 1 year old in 2013 and haven’t looked back since.  I also have the Level 4 Early Childhood Education qualification.

I am passionate about providing a nurturing, fun, and educational environment for children. I firmly believe that learning through play is the most natural way for children to grow and develop.
As a home-based educator, I believe we can make a real difference in each child’s development and learning. With our low ratio of only 4 children, I am able to give each child the individual attention they deserve, ensuring their needs are met and their interests are fully supported. For me, building strong, trusting relationships with each child and their families are at the heart of everything I do. I value calm, unhurried, safe and engaging environments for your child to flourish.

I look forward to getting to know your little one and supporting their growth and development in a way that celebrates their individuality and fosters a love of learning!

Our Time Together

Welcome to our warm and inviting home, where learning and fun go hand in hand! Our spacious, sun-filled house features a large backyard that flows beautifully from the lounge, offering endless opportunities for outdoor play. With a trampoline, playhouse, swing, mud kitchen, water and activity tables, bikes, and ride-on cars, there’s always something exciting to explore. We have a lovely vegie garden and many fruit trees for lots of learning about healthy kai.

Every day, we embark on new adventures around the community, often joined by other Educators and their little ones, building lasting relationships within our small group. We value authentic experiences and explore parks, enjoy music sessions, attend story time at the library, visit Orana Park, visit supermarkets and hardware stores and garden centres, and participate in our Stems FROM HOME termly program.

We love to bake delicious treats together and express our creativity through drawing and crafting. It’s a place where every child is encouraged to explore, learn, and grow in a safe, nurturing, and fun environment!

“The mud will wash off, but the memories will last a lifetime!”

Our Playgroup sessions include regular arts and crafts, imaginary play, chances to explore individual interests, as well as other fun visitors depending on current interests.
